Learning a musical instrument, especially a folk instrument, requires interaction. While some skills and techniques can be picked up from books and Internet resources, you need to sit knee-to-knee with other musicians in order to put the puzzle pieces together and put yourself on the path of mastering your craft.
The Maryland Folk Musicians Retreat provides this interaction and much more.
Since 2007 Pat and Patrick Costello have been hosting Folk Retreats on Maryland’s Eastern Shore Peninsula. Open to all levels of skill, disciplines, and styles, the Maryland Folk Musicians Retreat provides a warm and welcoming place to celebrate the joy of making music.
The Maryland Folk Musicians Retreat features workshops with skilled and compassionate instructors. There is ample time for jamming, socializing or just taking some time to be by yourself in a beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday world.
The Maryland Folk Retreat is now held at The Riverview Retreat Center. A lovely setting with hotel-style accommodations, chef-prepared meals and plenty of space for workshops and jamming.
Whether you are just starting out or you have been playing for ages, the Maryland Folk Musicians Retreat is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills in a setting of joy and fellowship.
